• Please bring back web support
• I can't be the only one stuck on v0.31.1 to retain the ability to develop my app in the browser. It's frustrating.
• I'm not asking for a map to render in the browser, I'm only asking for the ability for my app to still render like the behavior in 0.31.1
• Bringing this back is important because it enabled developers to develop their app in the browser without a phsycal device or simulator
• Using Expo SDK 48 and the Metro bundler

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a new Expo project with npx create-expo-app map-issue
2. cd map-issue
3. Install web things that expo make you install to use web with npx expo install react-native-web@~0.18.10 [email protected] @expo/webpack-config@^18.0.1
4. Put a <MapView /> in the App.js
5. npm run web
6. The app won't load in the web

Expected result

I'd expect my app to still run successfully in the web like it does with "react-native-maps": "0.31.1", even if it renders a placeholder instead of an actual map.

I'd expect the functionality of the latest react-native-maps to have equal or better web compatibility than "react-native-maps": "0.31.1", but it doesn't even support web at all anymore

Actual result

Refer to errors in the summary section. The app errors when using expo's web feature with both Expo's webpack and metro web bundlers.

For context, You can opt-in to metro for web by specifying bundler: "metro" in your expo config.

React Native Maps Version

Web support broken in both 1.7.1 and 2.0.0-beta.11. Last known working is 0.31.1
