Hello I'm Carlos Martinez

Curiosity-driven Frontend Developer | SWE Texas based | 🎓 UTSA Computer Science Grad - Actively seeking SWE roles

About Me

I'm passionate about crafting clean, user-focused experiences and learning everything I can along the way. I graduated from UTSA (Go Runners!) with a B.S. in Computer Science and have spent 4+ years in technical roles debugging complex systems, shipping full-stack projects, and leading knowledge-sharing sessions.

My philosophy: the best way to master something is to teach it.

📸 When I’m not coding, I’m behind a camera! Feel free to explore my visual work on Instagram.

Bilingual in English & Spanish, always happy to chat in either. 🇲🇽

My Skills

Favorite Projects

Allergy Log — Next.js · TypeScript · MongoDB · Tailwind · Vercel
Full-stack web app for searching restaurants by cooking oil type, with real-time debounced search and color-coded peanut allergy risk badges. Built using RESTful API with a custom risk-scoring algorithm (high/medium/low/unknown)

First Pull Request — Open Source · Git · GitHub
An educational repo designed to give developers a safe, guided path to their first open-source contribution. Where new devs are onboarded, average time-to-first-PR cut from days to under an hour. If I can lower the barrier for even one person, worth it.
