Frequently Asked Questions:
Where are Knobs.co's products made?
We carry over 25 brands of cabinet hardware, including most of the top names in the industry. Virtually all of the brands fall into one of two categories. Brands that custom make their products to order, such as Rocky Mountain Hardware and Edgar Berebi, make them in the United States. The custom production also means that these brands have premium prices and slower shipping times. Brands that mass produce their products, such as Top Knobs and Jeffery Alexander Hardware, produce them overseas and warehouse them in the United States. These brands have lower price points and faster shipping times than their custom made competitors.
What's the difference between cabinet knobs and cabinet pulls?
Cabinet pulls, also known as cabinet handles, generally have two screws with a gap to insert your hand in between. Cabinet knobs, on the other hand, are smaller and have just a single screw.
Is it OK to mix and match knobs and pulls?
A few years ago we conducted a poll amongst the interior designers who use our site, asking them if they preferred to use 1) knobs only, 2) pulls only, or 3) a combination of the two. The clear winner was #3, a combination of the two. Most collections we carry offer a combination of knobs and pulls meant to complement one another.
What appliances require appliance pulls?
Many higher end appliances are made to blend in with the overall appearance of the kitchen. Thus, while an inexpensive refrigerator might come with a built-in handle, top-end models such as the Sub-Zero come without handles of their own, with the expectation that their customers will want to buy appliance pulls to match their other cabinet hardware. The same is true for other kitchen appliances such as dishwashers.
Why are there so many different sizes of cabinet pulls?
Cabinet pulls come in many different sizes to accommodate many different styles and needs. For instance, modern kitchen design favors longer cabinet pulls, whereas more traditional kitchens use shorter pulls. Even those who prefer small cabinet pulls on light drawers such as the silverware drawer, often like something larger for bigger, heavier drawers such as the pot drawer.
