The summer heat wave is going strong and so, apparently, is the umpteenth rendition of celebrity-divorce season. The newest famous soon-to-be divorcé is My Best Friend’s Wedding actor Dermot Mulroney, who on Saturday filed for divorce from his wife of 15 years, Prima Apollinaare. According to People, Mulroney cited irreconcilable differences as their reason for separation and has asked for joint physical and legal custody of their daughters, 17-year-old Mabel Ray and 15-year-old Sally June.
Per People, Mulroney is representing himself and seems to have requested spousal support, which he asked the court not to give to Apollinaare. But a source told the outlet that “no one is asking for anything, and no one is denying anything” — Mulroney and Apollinaare were just “advised to file this way.”
“They are not arguing over the children nor money,” the source added. “They used mediators, not lawyers, as they are friends and this is amicable.”
Mulroney was previously married to actress Catherine Keener for 17 years. The former couple finalized their divorce in 2007, and Mulroney began dating Apollinaare, a singer-songwriter, the following year. Later in 2008, they welcomed their first child, Mabel Ray. One year later, they had their second child, Sally June, and wed in December 2010.
