Sophomores Assert Dominance Over New Freshmen

School is back in session, and you know what that means: TIME FOR SOME FRESH MEAT!

One of the best things about being a sophomore is not being a freshman. While it can be kind of fun to be the baby and for everything to be new and fresh, being the new guy also means that you'll certainly be the subject of taunts, ridicule, and hazing (I know I sure was!). This is especially true at a macho school like Fordham College at Lincoln Center. Our estimated 70/30 girl-to-boy ratio and the complete absence of any Greek life practically guarantees a breeding ground for unbridled masculine energy and constant keggers.

This makes Fordham, and most other schools, the perfect places to bully the young into submission.

By the time this article is published, I expect to have three to ten man/woman-servants, each of whom I have recruited from the new freshman class. This isn't inhumane or anything, it's just a fact of life. Throughout my own freshman year of college, I was made to do the laundry of my upperclassmen, clean their boots, do their homework, carry them to classes, and pre-chew their meals. I am not alone in this, all of these things are normal and natural and good. Did I think this way when I was at the whim of my sophomore, junior, and senior protégés? No. But a year full of hazing and pain truly does one well. It fills you with healthy rage and a desire to get revenge. This ensures that as a sophomore, you will continue this hazing tradition, this natural process that completes the Circle of Life.

Every incoming sophomore I know has been awaiting the first day of school all summer long, and it is because of the newfound power, coolness, and sex appeal that will have surely increased exponentially from our lame-o freshman year of college. To ensure your dominance from Day 1 of sophomore year, make sure you are always prepared to use force, never treat the young ones as equals, and always have a crazed look in your eyes (stop sleeping and it'll come naturally). For more great tips for asserting dominance, check out this SICK website.

To all sophomores, juniors, and seniors, have an awesome year!

And to all freshman...

Best of luck.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
